Information for Parents and teachers
Statistics show that children as young as 8 are being exposed to sexually explicit material which means your children or the little ones you teach. How do you deal with it?
There are many thoughts on how to deal with the knowledge that your little ones are being or have been exposed to porn but perhaps the change lies with us. Perhaps we have to accept that we live in a tech world connected to an online plethora of information ready to jump out of our screens whether we ask for it or not, whether we are 8 or 80 yrs old!
How can we as parents or teachers respond in a genuine way that gives the child permission and security to know that they can tell someone, without the fear of ‘getting into trouble’ or being shamed?
Something is wrong with the internet, not with the child
